Roberts County received just enough moisture to remain in extreme (D3) drought from the start of the month to the end of the month without slipping into exceptional (D4) drought. The extreme drought continued as any moisture that fell was well below average.
Wider weather episode
Soil moisture continued to be short to very short across the combined Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles. Winter wheat was highly struggling from the lack of moisture. Some wheat fields were getting irrigated on warm days. Livestock continued to be supplementally fed through the month of February. Rangeland and pasture were rated poor to very poor through the month.
