The Copper Harbor ASOS measured warning criteria winds through the period with a peak north wind gust of 66 mph just after 10 pm EST.

Wider weather episode

A strong winter storm brought moderate to heavy snow and considerable blowing snow to portions of west and north central Upper Michigan from the 18th into the 19th. The storm also packing northwest wind gusts over 60 mph brought blizzard conditions and power outages to Alger County during the morning of the 19th.
