A report of 16 inches was reported 5 miles south-southeast of High Rolls.

An upper low was moving across the Southern Rockies with a back door cold front moving in from the northeast into Otero County. Snow started the evening of the 2nd and continued into the morning of the 3rd. Snowfall amounts of up to 16 inches were reported in the Sacramento Mountains.
