Very gusty south winds developed in advance of a cold front across the North Carolina Piedmont and foothills during the overnight hours. The winds contributed to the collapse of a pedestrian bridge in downtown Hickory. Additionally, a large limb was blown down on and damaged a roof in West Charlotte.
