Event narrative

The hail lasted for up to 10 minutes, putting around 50 holes in the vinyl siding. The largest hail stones were estimated to be the size of a quarter. The location was near the intersection of Speights Bridge Rd and Lane Rd.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed during the afternoon hours and lasted into early evening. A few storms entered Eastern NC from the west and became severe in the Coastal Plain counties.
