The strongest winds occurred between 1130 pm on April 22nd until 1 am CST on April 23rd when wind gusts frequently ranged from 55 to 65 mph or higher. The nearby North Platte ASOS recorded a peak wind gust of 71 mph at 1249 am CST on April 23rd. Winds of this magnitude were common across McPherson County.
