Event narrative

A severe thunderstorm produced half dollar sized hail in Upper Strasburg.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed over the Ridge and Valley region of central Pennsylvania during the afternoon of May 15, 2022. It was a warm and modestly humid afternoon, but shear was quite weak. However, one storm pulsed up quickly over northern Franklin County and was able to produce half dollar sized hail and wind damage before it quickly collapsed.
