Event narrative

A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph, knocking down trees and wires in the 6000 block of Cumberland Highway near Green Village.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed over the Ridge and Valley region of central Pennsylvania during the afternoon of May 15, 2022. It was a warm and modestly humid afternoon, but shear was quite weak. However, one storm pulsed up quickly over northern Franklin County and was able to produce half dollar sized hail and wind damage before it quickly collapsed.
