Trees and power lines were blown down across the county throughout the day. The winds also help to fan the flames of some wildland fires. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

Winds increased after the passage of a cold front. The strong winds downed trees and power lines in the Yadkin, Wilkes, Stokes, and Rockingham County region. The winds also fanned the flames of a couple of wildfires presumably started by downed powerlines. A large billboard was also blown down.
