A cold front slowly crossing central Indiana from northwest to southeast combined with adequate instability south of Interstate 70 to produce scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Several storms became very strong to marginally severe early in the evening, with relatively dry mid-levels promoting isolated large hail and damaging winds.
