Isolated thunderstorms developed during the late afternoon hours of May 7th over the northern Nebraska Panhandle. Storms developed in advance of an approaching cold front which lifted across western and central Nebraska during the nighttime hours. As storms tracked east of the panhandle, they organized into a line of strong to severe thunderstorms which stretched from north central Nebraska into southwestern Nebraska. Hail up to golf ball size and wind gusts to around 70 MPH were reported.
