Event narrative

Strong thunderstorms develop over eastern Oregon and move into Idaho. A series of storms move over the same areas producing over an inch of rain for a number of locations. Strong winds near Emmett break irrigation pipe and force the apparatus 300 feet up a hill. Trees were knocked down in Boise, bringing down power lines and plunging thousands of North End residents into darkness.
