Fire, apparently caused by a lightning strike during the early evening, destroyed a rural home in the early morning hours. The initial fire caused by lightning rekindled while the family slept. Five people were rescued from a car floating down Prairie Street between 12th and 15th avenue. Flooding of basements, intersections, and other low lying areas was common along with closed streets and highways. MORRIS CO.
