Event narrative

A tropical depression moving northeast across the north Gulf of Mexico caused tides about 3 feet above normal along the coastal areas of extreme southeast Louisiana. Water covered a portion of Louisiana Highway 1 near Grand Isle on October 1st and 2nd, and minor damage to roads and ramps was reported on Grand Isle because of high tides. Coastal flooding across the remainder of southeast Louisiana was confined to low lying areas near the coast, and outside of protection levees.
