Wider weather episode
All of northern Ohio was located in the warm sector on the 23rd through most of the 24th. Simultaneously, a surface cold front drifted southeastward from the Upper Great Lakes and reached far-western Lake Erie, far-northwestern Ohio, and northeastern Indiana during the late evening of the 24th. This front finally swept southeastward through the rest of northern Ohio during the morning of the 25th. Multiple rounds of multicell thunderstorms occurred ahead of the cold front during the 23rd through wee hours of the 25th. Some of these storms produced damaging wind gusts as they encountered moderate MUCAPE and moderate to strong effective bulk shear and DCAPE, respectively.
