Event narrative

Nevada, West-Central Nevada,Strong thunderstorms developed across the area prompting the issuance of severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings. Spotters in southern Douglas and eastern Churchill County reported one-inch-diameter hail. A windshield on a Navy jet was shattered by three-quarters-inch-diameter hail in Dixie Valley east of Fallon. Flooding was reported in the Ranchos area south of Gardnerville where an estimated two to three inches of rain fell in a two-hour period.
