Event narrative

A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down multiple trees along Route 42 between Millville and Bloomsburg.

Wider weather episode

An approaching cold front was aided by rather strong mid-level flow (45-55+ kts) and moderately strong MLCAPE (1000-2000 J/kg) over central Pennsylvania during the afternoon of July 12, 2022. Scattered showers and storms developed by early afternoon, and produced reports of wind damage and quarter-sized hail. Storms had exited the Lower Susquehanna Valley by early evening.
