A sub-severe thunderstorm produced nickel-sized hail near Port Allegheny.

Wider weather episode

A loosely organized squall line pushed across southwestern Pennsylvania and into south-central Pennsylvania during the late afternoon and early evening of July 23, 2022. The storms began to weaken as they crossed south-central Pennsylvania, but not before producing scattered wind damage across the southern Alleghenies.
