Wider weather episode
An upper trough digging across the Northeast United States with ample shortwave energy helped push a cold front into portions of southeast Georgia during evening hours, igniting thunderstorms that eventually merged into a mesoscale convective system capable of producing widespread wind damage across an environment displaying moderate levels of mixed layer convective available potential energy and large downdraft convective available potential energy.
