Event narrative

A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down trees onto wires east of Beech Creek.

Wider weather episode

A couple lines of convection developed over central Pennsylvania during the afternoon of August 4, 2022. Moderate instability and steep low-level lapse rates encouraged convective development, although deep-layer shear was relatively weak. A few storms managed to produce sporadic wind damage.
