Several waves of thunderstorms developed over southern Ontario ahead of an approaching weak cold front. While the initial waves of convection fizzled out as they approached the Niagara Peninsula, the final wave held together and crossed into the Niagara Frontier interacting with increasing shear and instability resulting in several reports of thunderstorm wind damage into the early morning hours.
