Creek flooding along South Mountain Road washed away the asphalt from the road next to Lone Pine Chapel Church, and washed out some of the ground beneath some foundation pillars of a veterinary hospital next door.

Wider weather episode

The heavy rain events of recent days in adjacent eastern Kentucky crossed into southwest Virginia on the 28th and produced significant flash flooding, especially around Pound VA.
