Event narrative

Peak wind gust was measured at an NDAWN station at the 10 meter height. Several large trees were snapped or uprooted in the nearby community of Pekin. Empty steel grain bins were also partially caved in near Pekin.

Wider weather episode

Clusters of thunderstorms combined into a line of storms during the late evening in eastern North Dakota, then moved southeastward through the region over the next several hours. Significant damaging winds, and large hail were reported, as well as two tornadoes.
