Event narrative

Several large cottonwood, ash and spruce trees were snapped or uprooted. Shingles and roof trim was torn from the roofs of several homes.

Wider weather episode

Clusters of thunderstorms combined into a line of storms during the late evening in eastern North Dakota, then moved southeastward through the region over the next several hours. Significant damaging winds, and large hail were reported, as well as two tornadoes.
