Event narrative
The roofing system of a large 80x160 ft. The machine shed was partially lifted and dropped, resulting in its partial collapse into the building. Area wind sensors and radar suggest that winds were sustained at 40 mph or higher, with frequent gusts ranging from 55 to 75 mph for at least 10 minutes.
Wider weather episode
Clusters of thunderstorms combined into a line of storms during the late evening in eastern North Dakota, then moved southeastward through the region over the next several hours. Significant damaging winds, and large hail were reported, as well as two tornadoes.
