County comms reported numerous trees and some power lines blown down across county, some on power lines. Trees fell on a home near Rutherfordton and punctured the roof.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms and storm clusters developed near the Blue Ridge escarpment during the afternoon and moved southeast throughout the late afternoon and evening. One of the storms produced locally damaging wind gusts in Rutherford County.
