Rocky River Buoy, about three-miles northeast of Bay Village, recorded a peak gust of 40 mph from a thunderstorm.

An occluded surface low moved southeastward from central Ontario to far-southwestern Quebec during the morning through early afternoon of the 19th. Simultaneously, the trailing cold front moved generally southeastward from the northern and western Great Lakes to far-western Lake Erie and northwest Ohio. Ahead of the cold front, a line of multicellular thunderstorms moved eastward over and near the western and central basins of Lake Erie. These storms generated sporadic gale-force and storm-force peak gusts along the northern Ohio shore. The storms encountered a warm sector comprised of weak to moderate MUCAPE and DCAPE, respectively, and moderate deep layer bulk shear.
