Heavy Snow — Golden Valley, North Dakota

2022-10-24 · Golden Valley, North Dakota

Event narrative

Beach received six inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

A deep low pressure system lifted through the Northern Plains producing heavy precipitation across much of North Dakota. In the west, where colder air worked into the system, much of the precipitation fell as snow. Some of the snow became heavy, particularly over parts of far western North Dakota near the Montana border. The heaviest snow reports of six inches occurred at Williston, Williams County, and Beach, Golden Valley County. So early in the season this had a significant impact on surface transportation.
