The United States Drought Monitor (USDM) continued to indicate severe drought conditions across portions of Litchfield County in Connecticut through the first half of October before it was downgraded on October 18.
Above normal precipitation from September through October improved drought conditions across the region allowing the severe drought to end.
With the severe drought ending, the Connecticut Interagency Drought Workgroup downgraded Litchfield County to a Stage 1 (below normal conditions) drought declaration.
