Event narrative
Light to moderate snow showers brought 5 to 6 inches of total snow to Lookout Pass and also along Highway 200 northwest of Thompson Falls.
Wider weather episode
A general trough of low pressure with multiple shortwaves brought periods of light to moderate snow to parts of the Northern Rockies. The interaction of an arctic air mass, northeast winds and upper waves produced lake effect snow on the southwest quadrant of Flathead lake.
