Taos Ski Valley at Kachina Peak measured a wind gust of 66 mph.

The remnants of a strong Pacific storm system brought a strong portion of the jetstream over New Mexico on January 11, 2023. High winds impacted areas along and east of the central mountain chain early in the morning, spreading to most of the eastern plains through the afternoon period before diminishing during the evening hours. Peak gusts regularly ranged from 60 to 68 mph.
