Event narrative
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center measured 11 inches of snow across Douglas Pass in addition to significant travel impacts along Highway 139.
Wider weather episode
The final shortwave trough associated with a prolonged atmospheric river event trekked across western Colorado. Continued abundant moisture paired with favorable orographics resulted in moderate to heavy snow for the mountains as well as some southern and central valleys. Winds gusted up to 50 mph at times in the mountains and up to 35 mph in the valleys.
