Event narrative

A quick moving system brought heavy snow to the county over a period of about 12 hours with snowfall totals of 6 to 8 inches. The highest report was around 9 inches in Gile.

Wider weather episode

A fast moving area of low pressure moved from eastern Kansas to north of Lake Superior along a cold front the 29th into the 30th. This brought a quick, heavy burst of snowfall to northwestern Wisconsin during the day on the 29th. Snowfall totals of 3 to 8 inches were common across the region in roughly 12 hours. A few spots received slightly higher amounts to around 9 to 10 inches during the event near Butternut, Lake Nebagamon and near Gordon.
