Storm total snow accumulations ranged from 3 to 5 inches. Sleet and ice accumulations were less than a tenth of an inch.

A weakening primary low approached from the Great Lakes during the 16th. Energy was then transferred to a rapidly intensifying secondary low. The secondary low tracked along the Maine coast during the 16th...exiting across the Maritimes that night. Precipitation expanded across the region through the morning of the 16th. Precipitation was in the form of snow across northern areas...with a wintry mix across central areas and the interior Downeast region. The snow was heavy at times across northern areas during the afternoon with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times. Snow ended through the evening. Storm total snow accumulations generally ranged from 5 to 9 inches across much of northern Maine...with localized totals up to around 12 inches across portions of the Saint John Valley. Warning criteria snow accumulations occurred through the afternoon into the evening. Snow accumulations across central areas and the interior Downeast region generally ranged from 1 to 4 inches along with light sleet and freezing rain accumulations. This was the first measurable snow of the season for much of the central and interior Downeast regions.
