For multiple sites across Daniels County, temperatures in the teens and 20s below zero and breezy winds created intermittent periods of wind chills of -40 or worse from the early morning of the 21st into the morning of the 23rd. The peak wind chill of -59 was recorded at 6:07 PM and 6:48 PM on the 21st and 3:00 AM on the 22nd at the Navajo MT-5 DOT site (MTRED).
