Exceptional (D4) drought conditions persisted through the end of November over all of Hayes County. The cooperative observer at Hayes Center reported 0.17 inches of precipitation in November. This was 0.44 inches below the normal of 0.61 inches.
Wider weather episode
Dry conditions continued across western and north central Nebraska in November. By the end of the month, exceptional (D4) drought conditions had expanded into most of Brown, northern Rock and southeastern Cherry County. Extreme (D3) drought conditions expanded into Hooker, McPherson, and eastern portions of Arthur and Grant Counties.
