Event narrative

The NOS station PSTL1 Pilot Station East measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 43 mph or 37 knots.

Wider weather episode

A frontal boundary stalled across the area on December 10th into the 11th. Ongoing thunderstorms that developed on this boundary began to progress eastward as another cold front approached and began moving eastward through the local area. These storms moved into an environment with just enough instability for them to strengthen to severe limits and produce strong winds over a few marine locations.
