Event narrative
The observer at Garden Corners measured over 11 inches of lake enhanced snow over a three-day period. Northwest winds gusting near 40 mph at times also caused occasional whiteout conditions in snow and blowing snow.
Wider weather episode
A rapidly deepening storm system over the Upper Great Lakes produced a long-duration lake enhanced snow event across Upper Michigan from the 21st into the morning of the 26th. Blizzard conditions from lake enhanced snow and blowing snow were also reported across much of the area from the 23rd into the 24th.
