A low pressure system brought widespread accumulating snowfall across eastern New York on December 11, 2022 before tapering off during the early morning hours on December 12, 2022. Many areas picked up between 3 and 6 inches of snow. A band of more moderate snow set up across portions of the eastern Mohawk Valley, Capital District and the northern and central Taconics where snowfall amounts of 6 to 9 inches were common. Numerous accidents were reported as a result of the snow covered and slippery road conditions.
