Sand Creek RAWS reported wind gusts to 61 mph.

An Alberta Clipper moved through the Northern Plains resulting in high winds, from the northwest, developing over western North Dakota. The winds were strongest over much of southwest North Dakota, with the highest reported wind gust of 62 mph occurring at Beach in Golden Valley County. From northwest North Dakota into the southcentral part of the state, where more snow had fallen earlier, a blizzard developed during the mid-day and continued through the afternoon. The winds eventually subsided in the evening.
