The Jones County Emergency Manager reported Interstate 90 was iced-covered, resulting in traffic accidents.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure passing south and east of the region brought wintry weather to south-central South Dakota. While snowfall amounts were 6 inches or less, snow-covered roadways significantly impacted travel. Patchy freezing drizzle also caused travel issues. The worst travel conditions were along Interstate 90 across Jones and Lyman counties, where numerous vehicles slid into ditches.
