Wider weather episode
An approaching frontal boundary generated widely scattered showers and thunderstorms in a low-CAPE/high shear environment during the afternoon and early evening of March 25, 2023. These storms dissipated as they progressed eastward from western Pennsylvania into a more stable, cold air dammed airmass over central Pennsylvania. However, Warren County was able to break into the warm sector briefly, and a sub-severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 50 mph pushed across the northern part of the county and knocked down a tree onto wires. Following the frontal passage, strong winds up to 50 mph buffeted the western highlands and caused sporadic damage.
