A peak wind gust of 57 MPH was measured by the automated weather station at the Durango-La Plata County Airport.

A strong mid-level jet settled over the Four Corners region ahead of an abnormally cold Pacific system. Windy to very windy conditions occurred across western Colorado ahead of the cold front. Some gusts met high wind criteria, or were greater than 58 mph in the valleys and greater than 75 mph in the mountains.
