A peak wind gust of 60 MPH was measured by the automated weather station at the Durango-La Plata County Airport.

Windy conditions developed ahead of an approaching cold front with the strongest winds observed over the valleys and mountains of southwest Colorado. Some gusts met high wind criteria, or were greater than 58 mph, in the valleys.
