Event narrative

Light freezing rain and freezing drizzle began on the afternoon of the 30th and continued off and on until February 2. The icing was mainly on trees and elevated surfaces. The Fair Oaks Ranch area in far Northwest Bexar County reported 1.2 Million Dollars worth of damage from the icing event.

Wider weather episode

A cold front brought a shallow layer of cold air. Warm, moist southeasterly flow above this cold air produced light freezing rain and freezing drizzle for several days.
