Event narrative

Observers measured between 4 and 10 inches of snow across Delta County over an approximate 21-hour period with the greatest snow amounts in Escanaba and near Brampton. North winds gusting near 30 mph also causing blowing and drifting of snow, and schools were closed throughout the county on the 23rd.

Wider weather episode

A deepening Plains low pressure system moving through Lower Michigan generated widespread moderate to heavy lake enhanced snow across much of west and central Upper Michigan from the afternoon of the 22nd into the 24nd.
