There were public reports of 8 to 9 inches of snow in the Newberry area in less than 18 hours. Tahquamenon Area Schools were on a two-hour delay on the 28th as plow crews were cleaning up in the aftermath of snowfall.

Wider weather episode

A Plains storm system tracking through Lower Michigan dropped widespread moderate to locally heavy snow across much of Upper Michigan from the 27th into the morning of the 28th.
