Event narrative

Heavy snow combined with wind gusts up to 40 mph and higher closed roads and schools on the 14th and 15th due to hazardous road conditions. Th following schools were closed on the 14th: Bonneville Joint District 93, Fremont District 215, Jefferson District 251, Ririe District 252, Madison District 321. Interstate 15 was closed from Idaho Falls to the Montana border due to the snow and wind by the evening of the 14th. Snowfall amounts were 4 inches Hamer, 7 inches Rexburg, 5 inches Idaho Falls, and 5 inches Rigby.

A powerful Pacific storm system brought a combination of heavy snow and strong winds to southeast Idaho with many areas receiving 6 to 14 inches of snow with wind gusts over 40 mph. Several roads and schools were closed on the 14th and 15th due to the snow and wind combination causing very hazardous travel.
