Event narrative

Snow and wind gusts exceeding 40 mph closed interstate 15 from Idaho Falls to the Montana border and Highway 22 between Dubois and Howe. Highway 20 closed from Idaho Falls to INL due to an INL snow plow overturning. Jefferson School District 251 was closed on the 14th due to road conditions. Butte County School district 111 was also closed.

A powerful Pacific storm system brought a combination of heavy snow and strong winds to southeast Idaho with many areas receiving 6 to 14 inches of snow with wind gusts over 40 mph. Several roads and schools were closed on the 14th and 15th due to the snow and wind combination causing very hazardous travel.
