To start April, ongoing drought conditions in the northern and northeastern quarter of Daniels County were in (D0-Abnormally Dry) conditions, the middle third and southwestern portions of the county was in (D1-Moderate) drought, with about 20 percent of the county in the southcentral area in (D2-Severe) conditions. On the last week of April, the northern and northeastern quarter remained in (D0-Abnormally Dry) conditions, while the southeastern three quarters of the county improved to (D1-Moderate) drought.

Wider weather episode

Although recent snow has brought improvement to drought conditions across the region, drought still persists in some areas.
